School Trips & Activities
At St. Fergal’s College, school trips form an important part of the learning experience. We believe that education extends beyond the classroom, and our programme of trips and activities helps students to broaden their horizons, develop social skills, and create lasting memories with their peers.
Year Group Trips
All year groups enjoy organised school trips during the year. These outings give students opportunities to bond with classmates, experience new environments, and strengthen the sense of community within the school.
Subject-Based Trips
Individual subject departments also organise trips and activities to enhance classroom learning. Examples include science exhibitions, theatre visits, art gallery tours, and business enterprise events. These subject-focused trips help students to see their learning come alive in real-world settings.
Transition Year (TY) Trips
As part of the TY programme, students take part in a wide range of outings and activities, including cultural visits, adventure and outdoor pursuits, and international travel opportunities. These trips are designed to encourage independence, teamwork, and personal growth.
Senior Cycle Trips
Senior students also benefit from subject-specific trips that link directly to their Leaving Certificate studies. Examples include:
- 5th Year Cultural Trips: introducing students to national heritage, the arts, and cultural experiences.
- History Trip for Senior Students: providing first-hand insights into key historical sites and themes studied at Leaving Certificate level.
Through these varied opportunities, students at St. Fergal’s College are encouraged to explore the world around them, develop curiosity and understanding, and enjoy experiences that complement their academic and personal development.
